Mr. Green’s Blog: California Energy Efficiency Regulations for Computer Monitors

The California Energy Commission held a webinar to review upcoming Title 20 regulations effective for computer monitors offered for sale in California and manufactured on or after July 1, 2019. With more than 25 million computer monitors in the state, regulating their energy use will save about 696 gigawatt-hours per year. Although somewhat less stringent than the upcoming ENERGY STAR Displays Version 8.0 specification that will be effective on January 28, 2020, the California regulation does go into effect earlier and addresses some changes to common test procedures.
