TNY278GN-TL device FIT rates

Posted by: jc123 on

Hello; Can you please provide the device FIT rate for the TNY278GN-TL?
- Confidence Level for FIT rate calc (eg, 60% CL or 90% CL)
- Operating Temperature for given FIT rate (please specify if the given temperature is ambient or junction)
- Activation Energy used for FIT rate calc

Thank you.

The failure rate for the TinySwitch-III and TinySwitch-PK product families is 1.0706 FITs (MTBF = 934,021,000 hours).
This failure rate was estimated by de-rating the high temperature reliability test data to an application use junction temperature of 55 deg C, using an activation energy of 0.7eV and was calculated with a 60% confidence level.

The failure rate in the field is much more related to the incidence of voltage spikes let through the input filter ( if any). For any spike > 750V for > 20uS on the HVDC bus the likelihood of failure is very high ...
