12VDC 1Amp, 440VAC Input

Posted by: SivaReddy on

I currently using TNY278PG for my product as per reference design. It is working fine.
But it support only for 265VAC input , we need to respin our design to take care of 3phase supply (460VAC Input).

Can you please advice what changes to be made to work current TNY278PG design for 460VAC?

Thanks for your quick respond.
I can see your design idea is 12V, 250mAmp with wide input voltage.
As per as input range spec is fine with me.
How to increase current from 250mAmp to 1Amp rating for this?

Siva

Hi Siva,
To increase the output current to 1A, you will need to redesign the transformer, choose appropriate output capacitor ripple current rating, choose appropriate output diode, input capacitor and select the PI device to support the max Primary side current.
If you use the PI expert you will get all the values for all the above components.
