Comparison of TOP and Link Switch

Posted by: pavan611 on

Hi

1. We are designing a power supply with <2W output power, do we need to include Flyback transformer for the design ? What are the possible hazard if we design power supply without using flyback transformer.

2. Which is the best part to use when battery charging need to be done. The rechargeable battery shall be charged at 20mA rate with     3.3V.

3. The battery estimated capacity would be 500mAh.

3. Is there any Comparison spreadsheet of all devices based on Input voltage , Power Wattage, Efficiency.

Hi

We are working towards Non-isolated power supply and need support on design using TOP switch. The peak current will be 400mA at 5V. But continous power requirement will be 100mA at 5V.

Is there any refrence design were i can follow for the design.

Hi pavan611,

Our reference designs for TopSwitch are quite a bit higher in power than your needs.  As such, we recommend that you start with the PI Expert Suite for guidance.  Alternatively, please feel free to contact your local sales office for support.
